Child Killed, Man Seriously Injured in Head-On Las Vegas Car Accident

Posted by: Jack Bernstein

According to the police, this head-on Las Vegas car accident occurred shortly after noon today when a man and the three-year-old child were traveling in a sedan near Eastern Avenue and Pebble Road.  At that point, the sedan suddenly collided directly with an oncoming SUV.  The child was killed in the crash and the male driver was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.  The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.  Police are still attempting to determine fault with regards to this incident.

The Statistics

First and foremost, we’d like to offer our most sincere condolences to the family and other loved ones of the small child who was killed in this Las Vegas car accident.  Losing anyone so young is truly tragic.  We also hope that the man who was injured in the crash is able to survive the harm he has suffered.  In addition, this crash will now become part of the overall statistics regarding Nevada car accidents.  Every year, thousands of people are injured and approximately 300 people are killed in these incidents.

Clearly, much more information would be needed in order to determine fault for this car accident.  However, if it turns out that the driver of the SUV caused the crash, it could lead to the filing of a personal injury lawsuit against that driver.  If such a lawsuit is filed and it’s successful, it could lead to an award of damages that compensates the family for their losses.
