Driver and Passenger Critically Injured in Single-Vehicle Las Vegas Car Accident

Posted by: Jack Bernstein

When drivers get behind the wheels of vehicles, they take on several different forms of responsibility.  Perhaps the most important among them is to avoid conduct that would place others in positions of unreasonable risk of harm.  When a driver makes a mistake that leads to harm for others, that driver can be legally liable for the damage done.  This duty obviously extends to any passengers in a driver’s vehicle.  While it’s too early to know exactly what happened, it’s possible that a mistake by a driver led to a single-vehicle Las Vegas car accident in which both the driver and the passenger were critically injured.

According to the authorities, this single-vehicle car accident occurred on Sunday morning at approximately 9:15 a.m.  An unidentified female was driving a Kia with an unidentified male passenger on Charleston Boulevard when she suddenly lost control of that vehicle.  She wound up driving onto the median and slammed into a tree near Cahlan Drive.  Both people were rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, and the police are still attempting to determine the cause of the crash.

If the investigation leads to a determination that the driver was at fault for this car accident, then the situation could lead to the filing of a Nevada personal injury lawsuit by the passenger who was badly injured in the crash.  If such a lawsuit is filed and it’s successful, it could lead to an award of damages that compensates the plaintiff for his losses.
